Today,
the loveliest thing was born
a dainty something
poking
like the prime of the sun at rise
it comes
it lingers
it brought
my scalp
to my fingers
brighter than any light
i’d ever seen
if only it stayed long enough
for me to capture it
it came
it went
and it was better
than anything
money could be spent on
it grew up
so fast
so fast
that
in a few minutes
after birth
it was ready to fly the coop
out of my mind
and right into
existence.
